Notes:

  1. Recommended parameters are specified for a company with a 100 Mbit network and a number of Pilot client application up to 100 pieces.
  2. The requirements for free space on the disk are specified without taking into account the size of the file archive.

When choosing a computer configuration remember that the more difficult the tasks you are going to work on, the higher the computer requirements.

Additionally

  • In case of conflicts with the antivirus program, a possible solution would be to add the user settings folder Pilot-ICE (%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\ASCON) and the installation folder of the Pilot system components (for instance, C:\Program Files\ASCON\) to the scan exceptions.
  • During the installation of the Pilot software, it is recommended to temporarily disable antivirus programs.
  • After Pilot-BIM-Server installation on Linux an exception may occur during a model parsing: Unable to load shared library ... or one of its dependencies. In this case, you can use the following way:
    1. Use the ldd command to display dependencies. For instance, ldd Ascon.Pilot.BimService.
    2. See which dependencies are missing.
    3. Install everything you need until there are no unsatisfied dependencies left.
On some operating systems it is impossible to satisfy dependencies. For instance, Ubuntu 22.04 and newer. In this case, you can use the Pilot-BIM-Server installation from a docker container.
