About Pilot-BIM
Pilot-BIM system is a client-server data management system based on Building information modeling (BIM) technology. It includes Pilot-Server, Pilot-BIM-Server, Pilot-Web-Server, Pilot-myAdmin application, СadFarmApp module and Pilot-BIM client application.

You can find out about the purpose and capabilities of Pilot-Server, Pilot-Web-Server and Pilot-myAdmin here.
Pilot-BIM-Server:
- monitors the appearance and updating of IFC files on the Pilot Server, ensuring the relevance of the information model;
- builds tessellations: converts the B-rep described in the IFC file into a triangulation representation of a BIM object;
- creates and modifies indexed BIM objects in the Model database (Model DB);
- when the IFC file is updated: it compares the models versions which were changed, calculates the difference in the Model DB, rebuilds tessellations and changes indexed objects in the database only for modified objects.
Pilot-BIM:
- provides an interface for user interaction with the information model;
- is a tool for delivering content to the server;
- automatically builds a consolidated model to ensure consistency of the different project parts and detect problems at an early stage;
- Information model tab allows:
- to navigate through the 3D representation of the consolidated model and control its display;
- to get access to the properties of the BIM objects;
- to add comments directly to the 3D-model objects;
- to compare versions of the information model;
Pilot-BIM purpose
The constantly evolving Pilot-BIM database contains data from information models of capital construction facilities.
At the "Design" stage, Pilot-BIM is used for:
- automation of business processes of the project organization;
- collective development of design and estimate documentation;
- coordinated assembly of the consolidated model;
- visual check for collisions (intersections).
Pilot-BIM is not that
- It is not a CAD. It is not intended for modeling and drawing.
- It is not a means of joint modeling in CAD. It does not differentiate access rights within CAD.
- It does not create IFC format files.
- It does not IFC-viewer.
